Official Terms and Conditions for Participant Registration
Welcome to Asian Pop Stars, an exclusive international talent competition produced and owned by Pertubuhan Generasi Digital Malaysia (PGDM). By completing the registration process, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
1. Eligibility Requirements
1.1 Age
- You must be between 14 and 30 years old at registration.
- If you are under 18, a parental consent letter is required.
1.2 Nationality
- The competition is open only to individuals of Asian descent.
1.3 Gender
- Male and female participants are eligible to apply.
2. Registration Process
2.1 Submission of Information
- Provide accurate and complete details during registration.
- Any false information may lead to disqualification.
2.2 Registration Fee
- An administration fee is required to participate.
- Early Bird: $10 USD
- Normal Price: $18 USD
- The $18 USD registration fee includes:
- AKS entrance fee
- Automatic membership with PGDM
- Automatic membership in the APS Club
- A digital certificate for APS membership
- A 20% discount on APS and PGDM merchandise
- A 20% discount on all concerts and events organized
- Payment methods include credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, etc.), debit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
- The fee is non-refundable, even if you later withdraw.
2.3 Required Documents
- A valid government-issued ID (e.g., passport or national identity card).
- Proof of age and Asian heritage.
- Any additional documents requested by PGDM.
2.4 Video Submission
- Length: The video must not exceed 3 minutes.
- Content:
- Introduce yourself (name, age, nationality).
- Share your Pop aspirations.
- Perform a short talent showcase (e.g., singing, dancing).
- Logo Requirement:
- The Asian Pop Stars logo must appear in your video, either as a digital overlay or clearly visible in the background.
- Instructions for downloading the logo will be provided.
- Upload Method:
- Upload your video to TikTok or YouTube and ensure it is public or accessible via a link.
- Do not use private or restricted links.
- Link Submission:
- Share the video link through the official registration website.
- Resubmission:
- If you are not selected in the previous month’s top 100, you may submit a new video.
- Deadline:
- Submissions are accepted until July, with the top 100 participants announced each month starting in February.
3. Selection Process
3.1 Monthly Announcements
- Starting in February, the top 100 participants will be announced each month until July, resulting in 600 shortlisted participants.
3.2 Offline Auditions
- After the monthly selection, offline auditions will be held in:
- Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
- Bangkok, Thailand
- Jakarta, Indonesia
- Additional locations may be announced later.
- Participants are responsible for their own travel and accommodation costs for these auditions.
3.3 Retry Policy
- If you are not selected in one month’s top 100, you can reapply in the following months.
4. Program Commitments
4.1 Bootcamp Program
- The 30 selected participants will join a 5-week bootcamp in Malaysia for training, mentorship, and guidance in Pop performance and media engagement.
4.2 South Korea Training
- The top 20 bootcamp participants will advance to a 3-month training program in South Korea, preparing them for their debut as Pop artists.
4.3 Commitment Requirements
- Participants must attend all sessions, performances, and scheduled activities.
5. Participant Conduct and Ethics
5.1 Professional Conduct
- Maintain professionalism, respect, and integrity throughout the program.
5.2 Dress Code and Cultural Sensitivity
- As the program is based in Malaysia, where many are Muslim, participants must dress modestly for rehearsals, public events, and media appearances.
- Female participants must ensure their clothing covers the shoulders and knees.
- Specific wardrobe guidelines will be provided for performances on platforms like RTM.
5.3 Social Media Coverage
- Actively promote the program by sharing updates, behind-the-scenes content, and promotional material on your social media (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
6. Travel and Accommodation
6.1 Travel to Offline Auditions
- You are responsible for arranging and paying for your travel and accommodation for the offline auditions.
6.2 Travel for Bootcamp and South Korea Training
- If selected, PGDM will cover travel and accommodation costs for the bootcamp in Malaysia and the training program in South Korea.
6.3 Personal Expenses
- You will be responsible for any personal expenses not covered by PGDM.
7. Intellectual Property and Media Rights
7.1 Ownership of Content
- Any material you submit becomes the exclusive property of PGDM.
7.2 Media Usage
- By registering, you grant PGDM and its affiliates the right to use, edit, and distribute your image, likeness, and performance for promotional purposes across all media platforms.
8. Disqualification and Withdrawal
8.1 Grounds for Disqualification
- You may be disqualified for providing false information, breaking the program rules, or acting unprofessionally.
8.2 Voluntary Withdrawal
- If you wish to withdraw, you must notify PGDM in writing.
- Registration fees are non-refundable, regardless of when you withdraw.
9. Legal Disclaimers
9.1 Liability
- By registering, you agree that PGDM is not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage incurred during the program.
9.2 No Guarantee of Success
- Participation does not guarantee selection or success in the entertainment industry.
10. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting your registration and video, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms and conditions.
